Obituary of Ellen Shearer

Virginia Ellen Walker (“Ellen” Shearer) loving mother and sister, 65, of Alamo, California passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from complications with Parkinson’s.

She was a loving friend and distinguished world-wide breeder of American Kennel Club (AKC) registered miniature longhaired dachshunds under her kennel name of “Lilliput.”

She was a member of the Dachshund Club of America (DCA), Northern California Dachshund Club (NCDC), Golden Gate Dachshund Club (GGDC), East Bay Dachshund Club (EBDC) and National Miniature Dachshund Club  (NMDC).  

Ellen enjoyed success in the show ring competing at the championship levels with many of her dogs, a couple of standouts being Lippiput’s Windwalker ML “Teddy” and Rose Farm’s Palomino “Trigger” with co-owner Karyn Dionne.

Ellen’s contributions have helped to further the breeding programs of many miniature longhaired lines and her impacts are seen in the pedigrees of many show-dogs to this day.  

Ellen is preceded in death by her mother, Laura Virginia Walker-Murphy and Marce Murry (Tracy).  She is survived by her beloved daughter Rachel Klaerner and her beloved grand-children, Ethan and Ella Klaerner.  She also leaves behind her siblings and their spouses, Mary McCollum (Jeremy),Vince Murry (Beth), Steve Murry (Rebecca) and many friends and grateful dachshund lovers.

Ms. Walker will be cremated, at her request.  A Memorial Service is planned to say our good-bye’s to Ellen on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 1:00PM.  The Memorial Service will be held at the Central Peninsula Church, 1005 Shell Blvd., Foster City, California.

God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be

He wrapped his arms around you and whispered, “Come to me.”

You didn’t deserve what you went through, and so He gave you rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best.
