Janice Nelson, following a valiant 15 year battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord at the age of 77. She was born in Oakland and was raised in Berkeley. She was married in Berkeley in 1960 to Clarence Nelson, Jr. and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. She was a great partner in ministry to her husband, who pastored at several Bay Area churches. Janice enjoyed teaching piano and worked for the Walnut Creek School District for 17 years. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit, graciousness and positive outlook on life.
Janice is survived by her husband, C.J., her children Beverly Hemphill (Andy), Mark Nielsen (Becky), Karen Eager (Rob) and 9 grandchildren, William and Alec Hemphill, Joshua, Emma, Julia and Zoey Nielsen, Max, Elliott and Micah Eager.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service Sunday, February 4, at 3:00pm at NorthCreek Church, 2303 Ygnacio Vally Rd., Walnut Creek, CA 94598.
