Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Flagg was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a faithful Christian who used his tenor voice to honor God. He was born in Susanville, CA to Walter and Blanche Flagg. He graduated from the Harvard School in No. Hollywood, CA, in 1946, after which he served in the U.S. Army. In 1952 he graduated from UC Berkeley and began a 33 year career with Alameda County, serving first as a Probation Officer and later as a Traffic Hearing Officer. David married Astrid Wettin in 1955 and they were married for 52 years. He is survived by his children, Wendy (Todd Netland), of Walnut Creek, and Andrew (Connie), of Orinda, and grandchildren Andrea (David) Rogers, David Flagg, and Caleb Flagg. He resided in Orinda since 1958. As a tenor soloist, he traveled the world singing Christian music in 30 countries. He sang in prisons, rescue missions, Billy Graham crusades and patriotic events. He would sing the national anthem at Major League baseball and NFL games, joyfully dressed as a "flagg" in red, white and blue! A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., at Living Hope Fellowship, 3210 Stanley Blvd., Lafayette. Donations in his memory can be made to the Living Hope church.
