Obituary of Margaret Floy Nelson Moulthrop

Margaret Floy Moulthrop passed away on March 11, 2016 in Pleasant Hill, CA at the age of 91. Her daughter and son-in-law were by her side, holding her hand, as she made her final transition.
Margaret was born in Ada, Minnesota and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. She started her nursing career in Dallas, Texas where she met and married Robert A. Moulthrop (Bob). Margaret and Bob moved from Texas to Colorado and eventually to California. They had three children. Margaret worked in public health nursing for several years before becoming a credentialed school nurse. She worked for the San Jose Unified School District for 17 years. After retiring, Margaret and Bob competed in ballroom dancing as amateurs. They won numerous awards and trophies from competitions throughout the United States and Europe. Margaret was a longtime resident of Morgan Hill from 1967-2012. She was an active member of the Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and hosting Bible study groups in her home. She was also a member of the Gilroy Presbyterian Church. From 2012 until her passing, Margaret was a resident of Aegis Assisted Living in Pleasant Hill. She participated in daily activities at Aegis and made many friends there.
Margaret is survived by her two loving daughters, Laura Marks of Moraga and Jennie Machado of Riverside; son-in-laws, Steve Marks of Moraga and Charles Machado of Riverside; four grandchildren, Jordan Machado-Kim of Burbank, Timothy Marks of Los Angeles, Michael Machado of Riverside, and Sarah Marks of Moraga; daughter-in-law, Stephani Moulthrop of Cambria and grandson-in-law, Mike Kim of Burbank. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bob, and her son, Robert A. Moulthrop, II.
Margaret will be missed by all who knew her. She was a gentle soul with a loving heart. She will forever be in all of our hearts. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Hospice of the East Bay (California).
