Obituary of Ruben Lee Tapia

Ruben Tapia passed away peacefully in the morning hours of March 9th 2016. Ruben was born on December 3rd 1942 in Trinidad Colorado and was a long time resident of Antioch California. Ruben is survived by his loving wife Lorrie Tapia of 48 years, two children Glenn and Brad, grandchildren Dylan and Colby, brothers Steve Martinez, Brian Tapia, sisters Debbie Tapia-Duden, Marie Moreno, daughter-in-law Natalie Tapia, and many nieces and nephews. Ruben was a avid golfer for many years and he also loved playing softball and basketball in leagues and tournaments in the surrounding cities. Ruben also enjoyed going to Cal football and basketball games (GO BEARS) with family and friends as we'll going and watching the 49ers, Giants and Warriors. Ruben loved throwing big softball team parties / barbecues at his home for friends and family. Ruben worked for many years at Crown Zellerbach / Gaylord Container in Antioch California and retired from there. Ruben worked part time at Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch as well as a softball umpire for Northern California USSSA in leagues in Brentwood, Antioch and Concord. Memorial Services will be held on March 29th at 10:30am St. Ignatius of Antioch Church 3351 Contra Loma Blvd. Antioch, Ca, 94509 Followed by a celebration of Ruben's life at Lone Tree Golf Course 4800 Golf Course Rd. Antioch, Ca, 94509
