Obituary of Norma Lee Oliver

Norma Lee Linthicum was born in Wagner, Oklahoma on October 11, 1928 to Alvie and Ethel Linthicum. She was the youngest of their children and was 8 months old when her father tragically passed away. The family grew and eventually moved to Arizona and then Hanford, California. In August of 1944, Norma married the man she would spend 67 years of life with, Harold Oliver. Together, they began building a life and moved to Pittsburg, CA in 1952 with their two sons Jerry and Rick. In 1965, they were blessed with a daughter, Marla. Norma loved to sing her favorite hymns, be active in her church, and camping with her family and friends. She worked numerous jobs including working in the fields, picking cotton, Antioch Glass Containers, Antioch School District Cafeteria worker, and Panther Drive-In. Norma completed her journey on September 13, 2015 and fulfilled her last wish of being with Jesus and loved ones in Heaven. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her son Rick, Sisters Christine Miller, Velma Tully, Lois Webb, Brothers Frank Ford and Tommy Murphy.
Norma is survived by son Jerry Oliver (Annie), daughter Marla Oliver, grandchildren Jerry Oliver Jr., Janey Johnson, Tiffany Westberry (Heath), and Brian Oliver (Jennifer), as well as 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by Sisters Charlene Callahan (Chuck), Darlene Bridges (Don), Dorothy Baker (Bill), and her Brother Bobby Murphy (Mary) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Jubilee Christian Center on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11 Texas Street, Antioch. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. and Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak View Memorial in Antioch.
