Obituary of Howard D. Ladd

Please share a memory of Howard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Howard passed away from complications due to kidney failure. He died peacefully at Kaiser Hospital. Born in Worcester, MA, he grew up in Revere, MA, and graduated from Revere High School as a star athlete in football and track. These skills led to a full scholarship at the University of New Hampshire, from which he graduated in 1961. After college he played a short time with the Canadian football league, then the armed services called, and he joined the Navy, figuring at least with the Navy, your bed went with you. He had an interesting work history: salesman; stockbroker; analyst; small café owner; business advisor to the Marshall Islands; liaison between the Army, the logistical support contractor, and the Marshallese in regards to the Kwajalein Missile Range located in the Marshall Islands. The work in the Marshall Islands turned out to be one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences for the whole family, as they lived 2 years on Majuro and 2 years on the Kwajalein Missile Range. Leisure time was spent with family and friends, golfing, fishing, traveling, and rooting for the SF 49ers. Howard was known for his fabulous story/joke telling. He had what seemed like a bottomless pit of jokes. Howard is survived by Bonnie, his wife of over 50 years, son Chris Ladd, daughter Dani McTighe, and grandsons Max and Luke McTighe.
