Obituary of Ted E. Horn

Ted Eugene Horn, 65; of Pleasant Hill, CA passed away July 1, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov.11,1949 in Richmond, CA, and as an infant; moved to Pleasant Hill. He lived there through his childhood during which he made many lifetime friends. As a teen he was an active member in helping to form the Pleasant Hill Park & Recreation Youth Council in the 60's and attended College Park high school. Ted married and had a daughter, Laura; who was his pride and joy. He started a career working as a tree trimming company Foreman and worked at the job until an untimely accident on his motorcycle put him in a wheel chair in 1976. Despite his injuries he was a lifelong lover of motorcycles. Most friends of his called upon him at one time or another for his exceptional knack with motorcycle engines. Ted enjoyed his life because of his out- going personality and friends who never gave up on him; but kept in contact through the years and gave him many hours of laughs and companionship ,as well as bringing him treasures to put in his garden and yard. He was a music lover; enjoying the classic rock and blues of contemporaries of his youth and his house often vibrated with those tunes. He like to dabble in the kitchen and cooked many wonderful meals for family and friends. He enjoyed his patio retreat and often held court there for friends; and delighted in feeding all the neighborhood Squirrels and birds. Ted is survived by his daughter, Laura Louise Horn, Pleasant Hill; mother, Europe (Ruby) Horn of Buhl, ID; sister, Cleo Buss of Buhl, ID; and dear friend Chuck Mosley. Chuck was an invaluable friend who selflessly made Ted's life as comfortable as possible. Ted was preceded in death by his father Edwin.
