With great sadness the family of James W. Williams of Sierra City announce his passing on  Monday, February 26, 2018,  at the age of 80.  After a courageous fight James succumbed to severe injuries incurred from a motor vehicle accident in the Sierras. He passed very peacefully at the Brun Hospice House in Alamo California. He joins his wife of 58 years, Elvira, in heaven.

James Williams is survived by his son Michael Williams and his daughter Carol  (Williams) Lucido. James (Pop) will be forever remembered by his five grandchildren Danielle (Teagan) Dooley, Nicholas Lucido, Dominic (Lauryn) Lucido, Cori Williams and Jaime Williams. James is predeceased by his wife Elvira Williams (deceased September 2017), his brothers Glenn Williams, (Houston Texas), David Williams (Houston Texas), and Victor Williams (Findlay Ohio).

James was born in Cleveland Ohio in 1938  to Victor and Myrtle Naomi (Benton) Williams.  He served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States of America including the National Guard of Texas, and the United States Air Force.   After his faithful service and honorable discharges, he and his wife Elvira became long time residents of Martinez, California where they settled and raised their family.  James was a long time business owner.  He enjoyed fishing and hiking and with his family, spent many summers in the quiet outdoors of the Sierra Nevada.  James and his wife Elvira eventually left the bay area and moved permanently to the Sierra Nevada.  They enjoyed a very peaceful retirement together for over twenty years nestled in the quaint town of Sierra City, California.

A service for James will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 (11:00 AM) at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (Dixon California). He will be honored for his years of service in the United States Air Force, and interred with his wife Elvira.
