Obituary of Kathryn Lynn Lucia

Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathryn Lynn Lucia was a remarkable woman. She was born in San Francisco in 1944 during World War II. She was a gifted musician and became church organist at the young age of 12. Music played a huge role in her life and it was this shared love of music that brought Tom and her together when they were teenagers. They were married in 1969 and have always been a shining example of a loving, faithful relationship. Anyone who saw them together could see how strong their love for each other was, and that love only seemed to grow deeper as the years went by. She devoted much of herself to home schooling and taught every grade from Kindergarten through high school, instilling in her three children a love of learning and the arts. Every year she would use the money that she earned from teaching piano lessons to take her family on wonderful European vacations. She showed her family the world and introduced them to new cultures, foods, music, and art. She considered herself an Anglophile and spent countless vacations in England, antiquing, taking tea, and sharing in the quaint culture of the Cotswolds. She didn’t crave the spotlight, but shared her gifts faithfully by accompanying Tommy and Angelique on the piano or organ. She directed plays and choirs, organized huge church-wide events and amazingly detailed themed birthday parties for her kids, and even created a tea party catering business. She was a spiritual leader and mentor to many, and always tried to lead others in the way of the Lord. Her well-worn Bible is full of prayer requests and dates of answered prayers, mostly for her husband and children. Her greatest wish was that her children would have a close, loving relationship with their Heavenly Father, and she was thankful that wish was realized. Her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in 2007 was a huge blow to the family, but the way Tom loved her so well and cared for her like no other through it all was a testament of their special bond and devotion to each other. When she left this earthly home she was surrounded by her children and husband and they know that she is playing the organ along with the angels. All of her precious memories are restored and she is looking down on her family with love, safe in the arms of Jesus.
