Obituary of Catherine Cratty

Catherine "Cathy" Cratty, a long time Antioch resident passed away on Tuesday, April 11th with her children by her side. She is survived by son John (Angela) and daughter Sherry (Richard); grandchildren David (Tanya), Jesse (Karla), Israel, Noah; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Sophia, and Jax; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cathy would often be seen around the Antioch Somersville area zooming around and shopping at her favorite local stores. During her lifetime, she was a teacher’s aide, held remote work positions, and was an advocate for people with disabilities. Cathy was not disabled, she was able, strong, and courageous. A picture verse that hung on her wall read: Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow”. She always tried, always persevered, always overcame. She finished her journey with courage, strength, grace, and dignity and is now walking, running, and dancing – completely free and at peace. A memorial service will be held at Laurel Ridge Community Church 2459 Laurel Rd, Oakley, CA on Saturday, April 29th from 1 – 4pm. Personal viewing for immediate family from 1 – 1:30pm. Open memorial begins at 1:30pm - 4pm.
