William Joseph Haener October 2, 1927 - October 18, 2014 43-year Walnut Creek Resident
Bill was born in San Diego, California to parents Clarence and Margaret Poulsen Haener. He graduated from the University of Southern California and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Bill worked at Shell Oil/Chemical and Western Farm prior to his retirement.
Bill met his wife Dorothy Dee Ray at a church youth group in Inglewood and was married for 56 years until she passed away 5 years ago. Bill was blessed with three daughters: Karen Wilkins of Kalispell, Montana; Kristi Hertel of Lafayette, California; and Kelli Mink of Dove Canyon, California as well as 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Celebration of Bill's life will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church December 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm. http://saintmatthew.org. Isaiah 40:31: "… but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength…".
Donations in Bill's memory can be made to the St. Matthew Foundation or the Yosemite Conservancy.
