Obituary of Sue Ann Smith

Sue Ann (Poling) Smith, 77, of Oakley, California, died in her home at 8:03 p.m. Saturday, January 11th after an extensive illness.
Sue was born to the late George and Doris Poling, April 16, 1936, in her home in Gas City, Indiana. She married the late Wilbur Thomas Smith on November 24, 1954. Mrs. Smith is survived by four sons Gregory of Cottonwood, California; Ronald of Mission Viejo, California; Dennis (Denise) of Oakley, California; and Mark (Kristin) of Mission Viejo, California. Daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Lori Ann) Bupp preceded in death by Multiple Sclerosis in 2003. She is survived by four sisters Mrs. Robert (Bette) Knapp of Naples, Florida; Mrs. Jerry (Janet )Hrabik of Gas City, Indiana; Mrs. Pete (Georgia) Linn of Muncie, Indiana; and Mrs. Mike (Jeannie) Burke of New Bern, North Carolina. Preceded in death by her brothers John (Bud) Poling in 1982 and Richard Poling in 2013. Mrs. Smith is also survived by seven grandchildren eleven great-grandchildren.
Sue graduated from Mississenawa High School in 1954. She worked Indiana Bell Telephone Company as a service rep and later the License Bureau. Later she worked at Church and Casualty Insurance Agency, where as an office assistant. She was best known for her faithfulness to God, faithfulness to her family and faithfulness to her friends.
A memorial celebration of Sue's life will be held at Valley Church located at 5063 Maple Road in Vacaville, California on Tuesday, January 21 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Raleigh Galgan officiating. Those attending are requested to avoid wearing fragranced products.
