Obituary of Linda J. Woods

Linda Joyce Woods passed away peacefully at her home in Antioch, CA, with those she loved beside her, on October 8, 2014: She was 68 years old. Linda was born and raised in Antioch, CA on December 14, 1945 to Talmadge Pitts and Bernice Woods. She wore many hats, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend but was dedicated in her work as a substance abuse counselor for Contra Costa County and was active in the AA/NA community. She was loved and admired by all who knew her. She was a huge S.F. Giants and Oakland Raiders fan. She is survived by her former husband and dear friend Kenneth Melton, her mother Bernice Woods, her children Jerry Melton of Antioch, CA, Christy Renn (Chris Renn Sr.) of Sonora, CA, Terry Melton of Antioch, CA and Kelly Melton of Brentwood, CA, her grandchildren Heather Layne, Danielle Fortner (Melton), Kayleigh Reitan, Jamie Melton, Christopher Renn Jr., Casey Melton, Emileigh Faulkner, Karena Melton, Cody Melton-Pato and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Her sisters Dwenith Moore, Kathy Phillips, Patty Patrick and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. There will be a service to celebrate her life on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:00am at Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood. She will be laid to rest at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch, CA.
