Obituary of Warren Eugene Stenstrom

Warren Stenstrom died on September 24, 2013 at the age of 89. Born and raised in Alcester, South Dakota, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served as a navigator from 1943 to 1946. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he was a member of the Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers and a Registered Professional Engineer. He began his career with a Wisconsin electric power company and then worked for Bechtel in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He learned fly fishing as a member of the Diablo Valley Fly Fishermen. After retiring in 1985, he volunteered at the Concord Police Department and the Food Bank.
Warren is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter Lynn Gilbert (John) and son Craig Stenstrom (Carolyn); three grandsons, Douglas, Richard, and Erik; and sister-in-laws Jean, Phyllis, and Joyce Stenstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Ivar, brothers Roger and Robert, and sister Janice.
