Thomas (Les) Calvert, resident of Brentwood, passed away at Kaiser, Walnut Creek, from complications related to lung disease. Les was born in Granada, Nicaragua and immigrated to the United States when he was 13. Les was the eldest of six children. He is the son of Thomas Leslie and Salvadora. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in architecture and spent many years designing airports around the world. Les loved to travel and spent many vacations traveling to different parts of the world. After retiring in 1996, Les was an enthusiastic investor in the stock market, and particularly enjoyed his successes in the financial markets. Les is survived by his devoted wife Leilani; sons Thomas and Christopher, daughters Nancy, Kelly, and Toni, daughters-in-law Margaret and Kathy, and grandchildren Jamie, Katherine, Thomas, Brian, Jason, Sidney, Rose, and Ariana, and great-children Jaden and Jacie. He will be greatly missed by his surviving sisters and brothers, as well as his many friends and family in California and around the country. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 21 from 5-8pm at TraditionCare Funeral Services, 1205 A St, Antioch CA. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 22 at 11am at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2200 E 18th St, Antioch CA. Reception at Eskaton Lodge 450 John Muir Parkway, Brentwood, Ca. after the burial service.
