Rebecca went to be with the Lord; Wednesday October 3, 2007. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.
Rebecca was the 1st of 3 daughters; born to Albert and Mary Cox on Feb 21st 1944 in Phoenix, Arizona. Survived by a devoted and loving husband of 33 Years, Robert R. Barrett of Antioch, 6 Children, Theresa Shepherd {Tony} of Martinez, Alan Cox {Phyllis} of Austin, Texas, Tim Navarr {Lisa}, Lynetta Youngs {Tim} both of Antioch, Robert A Barrett, Kimberly Barrett of Florida. 10 grandchildren: Jeneanne, Michael, Tara, Steven, Alyssa, Kyle, Brendan, Angel, Alexander, and Anthony, One sister, Marietta Malouf and mother Mary Cox, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Albert M. Cox and sister, Maeanna Gonzalez.
Rebecca was raised in California, a 1961 graduate of Clayton Valley Highschool, A 1962 graduate of Paris Beauty College and runner up as Pow Wow Queen. She loved music, poetry, and had a great passion for reading books. An avid collecter of dolls, angels, bibles,& books. Spending time with her Chihuahuas and loved being a grandmother. She loved to crochet and was always crocheting something for her family or friends. She was a 37 year member of the Martinez Moose Lodge chapter 519, belonged to Antioch Senior Citizens, Avon presidents club. A devoted Christian and active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she enjoyed going to church, bible study and volunteering her time to HOPE Ministry. Rebecca was a very devoted wife, special mom, unique sister, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed.
