Gary Vernon SurfusAugust 15, 1945 ? August 31, 2007 Born August 15, 1945 in Stockton Ca, Gary lived for several years with his family before moving to Kennewick, Washington until he joined the Navy. His assigned ship was the USS Mt. Katmai and was honorably discharded as a Second Class Boilerman. Once leaving the Navy, Gary went to work for PG&E retiring after 34 years. He returned to work at the new powerplant Mirant where he worked up until he passed. Gary is the beloved husband of Diana Surfus and father to Brian, Stephanie, Teresa, Stacie, Jerry and Abbey (the families pet) plus the grandfather to Chase, Cierra, Sabrina, Michael, Monique and Gary. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and playing poker with his friends. Gary loved Nascar, completing People Magazine crosswords with his wife and spending time at home but would help anyone wanting nothing in return. Gary passed away August 31, 2007 after complications from lung cancer surgery. He will be missed by all. We love you Honey, Son-in-Law, Dad, Papa, Uncle and friend. A memorial service in Gary's honor will be held Saturday September 15, 2007 at the VFW hall on Wilbur Ave in Antioch from 12pm to 3pm.
