Obituary of Jose Borges

Jose Silveira Borges Entered into rest Thursday June 1, 2006 at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA at the age of 73. He was born in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge in the Azores Islands of Portugal on May 31, 1933. He resided in Oakley,CA for the past 30 years. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria E. Borges. Also by his daughter Lucia and son-in-law Antonio Salvador of Oakley. Grandfather of Tony and Jeanine Salvador and preceded in death by grandson Jason Salvador. Brother of Maria Evelina Reis of Canada; Luis S. Borges of Petaluma; Joao S. Borges of Sao Jorge, Azores; Alice B. Sousa of Sao Jorge, Azores; Fernando S. Borges of Terceira, Azores; Angela De Lima of Petaluma; Jose Alvaro Borges of Hilmar; Cremilde S. Reis (deceased); Antonio S. Borges (deceased); Joao S. Borges (deceased) Jose was an uncle, brother in law, Godfather and relative to many. Jose enjoyed spending time with those he loved, watching soccer, playing pool and cards, fishing, Portuguese celebrations, cooking, and making others laugh. He was a very loving, caring and giving person. Member of Flor do Oakley Holy Ghost and Bingo Committee, I.D.E.S and Our Lady of Fatima of Antioch. He was also a parishoner of St. Anthony's Church of Oakley. Rosary will be held on Tuesday June 6 at 7 P.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church 971 O'Hara Ave. Oakley Funeral will be held on Wednesday June 7 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Anthony's Church followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetary 2200 East 18th St. Antioch
