Richard Joseph ReitanoPrivate services will be held for Richard Joseph Reitano, who died at Bruns House in Alamo, Ca. after a 15 month battle with lung cancer. He was 72. Born in Jamaica, Queens, NY, he had lived in Bonny Doon for the past 26 years. He had worked for an international engineering firm and traveled the world with his family living in The Netherlands, Canada, Redwood City, Australia, Chicago, and finally Santa Cruz. Once in Santa Cruz, he worked in the Santa Cruz County Assessor's Office from which he retired in 1998. He is survived by his 5 children Joseph Reitano of San Bruno, CA, Nancy McNeil of Alamo, CA, Pete Reitano of Chalfont, PA, Rick Reitano of Watsonville, CA., James Reitano of North Hollywood, CA, and 7 grandchildren.
