Janet Susan Guerry, 63, died from cancer on Nov. 29, 2005, at her home in Concord. Janet was born on Feb. 11, 1942 in Chanute, Kansas. After graduating from Chanute High School, she attended the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, then obtained her degree in English from Emporia State College. A resident of California for most of her adult life, Janet had a career as an Administrative Assistant in sales and marketing. East bay residents may remember her frequent letters to the editor in the Contra Costa Times on various social issues, for which she earned a Golden Pen award. Janet was pre-deceased by her twin sister, Julia, her husband, Thomas J. Guerry Jr., and her parents, George W. and Mildred McKinney Donaldson. She is survived by her son Gabriel Guerry of Fairfield, and her sister Nan Ehrbright of Waveland, MS. A Memorial will be held later.
