Obituary of Darrow G. Crowe

Darrow Gene Crowe known as "Coach Crowe" and "Papa Darrow" 61, of Pleasanton, CA was born December 23rd, 1952 in Reno, Nevada to Gene and Caroline Crowe. He passed away at home on August 17th, 2014 after a short battle with Melanoma. He married the love of his life February 16th, 1985 and eventually settled down in Pleasanton, CA where he resided for the last 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Louise Crowe (Duck); Parents Gene and Patti Crowe; three siblings Paulette Nash, Wayne Crowe and Nanette O'Reilly Crowe; children William Crowe (Lumper Max), Jessica Crudale (Puff-a-lump), Meagan Brennan (Power Meaganis), Kevin Crowe (Kena) and Dylan Crowe (Little D); Two granddaughters Ella, Avery; and many nieces and nephews. Darrow worked in the furniture industry as a rep and local business owner and followed his passion for coaching youth sports. He coached numerous teams his children participated in, eventually dedicating his time as the head coach for the freshman softball team, assistant coach for the junior varsity and varsity softball teams and head coach for the varsity wrestling team at Monte Vista High School intermittently from 2004-2011. Darrow was an avid coin collector and huge fan of the Oakland Raiders. He enjoyed working on cars, attending Raider games with his family and two best friends and cooking meals for many gatherings and celebrations at his home. He was a regular jokester and loved to tease people. His contagious love for life, generous welcoming nature and love for telling stories will be sorely missed and never forgotten. A memorial service will be held at the Monte Vista High School gymnasium on August 30th at 10 a.m. In Lieu of flowers the family is taking donations for their eldest son's day program RES SUCCESS. RES has provided day service programs for adults with cognitive impairment, autism, and other developmental disabilities since 1994.
