My deepest sympathies to Sally's family. I was fortunate to be a part of the hiring team at Antioch High and then worked with her. She was always so upbeat and positive. She cared a great deal about her students who loved her. She is an inspiration to the Special Education community and will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched at Antioch High.

Nic and family,
I got together with a group of former Antioch HS teachers yesterday and we were thinking about Sally whom we all loved. Someone said that she was the real deal as a teacher--always advocating for her students. Others said that she always went above and beyond. I remember her sitting in on my math class because one of her students was in another class and she wanted to help him in the best way possible so she was refreshing herself on Algebra. She was the only SE teacher that ever did this with me. What a great educator!
Sally and my path crossed often--Antioch HS, Concord High Band--both of our boys were in the band, and Boy Scout--both were in the Presbyterian Scout Troop 357. Sally was a great mom--so happy to have Nic! Nic brought her so much joy. I know that she was so excited and proud when he went to and graduated from Azusa Pacific and later married and had a grand baby.
Sally was a women of faith. She went on many faith-filled journeys, and did a lot of volunteer work. We all loved following her latest trips.
Her smiling face will be missed by many.
Nic, I will be unable to attend your mother's memorial but she will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know that she will be looking down lovingly on you and your family.
My deepest sympathy, Mary (and Brian) McCarthy.
