Sally Smith passed away peacefully on March 12th at her home in Concord, California. She was born in Spokane, Washington in 1937. Sally graduated from Whitworth College in 1959. She began her long career in education as a P.E. Teacher at Clayton Valley High School in CA. Shortly thereafter, she worked for Young Life, a Christian outreach organization to teenagers. Sally returned to teaching after earning a Special Education Credential and taught for several years in Antioch, CA. After retirement Sally traveled around the world several times sharing her faith, wisdom, and love. Recently, Sally became involved in the revitilization of the Monument Corridor. Whether it was education, counseling, mentoring, missions, or literacy Sally was known for her strong sense of purpose, dedication, leadership and spirit. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Elisha Smith. She is survived by her brother, White Smith, son Nicolas and his wife Genevieve, and grandson, Alexander. Sally will remain in the hearts and minds of her close friends and family. Sally Smith's memorial will be held on Saturday, April 2 starting at 10 AM.
