So very sorry to hear the news. Mike always had a smile on his face, and told some great stories. Nice man.

Godspeed to my Uncle Mickey, got a fishing story to tell…
Must have been in kindergarten, we were living on Yerba Buena avenue in San Francisco. Uncle Micky invited me to go fishing with Norman Hiese his college buddy, & co-worker at my Father’s Shell Station on 7th Avenue.
We took Grandpa Mikes boat the ‘Kathy’, launched her onto the bay where it all began.
My job was not to fish, but to pass bait and beer to Norm who was on the bow. They had a line attached to me and had put me in an oversize bright orange life-vest. Grabbing the rail with one hand, I would hold the bait making my way forward.
I slipped and went into the bay, quickly drifting away from our anchored boat. This was all the excuse they needed.
“Don’t move, there are sharks in the water” said Uncle Micky with all dead seriousness, Norm agreed with him. Which was all I needed to start kicking & screaming “Help me!”
This went on for some time as they deliberated what to do, how dangerous and tricky sharks were, all the while my yelling and kicking rising to the occasion. After more teasing they finally pulled me in. Soaking wet, I had to change into a large blue jacket, but refused to speak to either one of them.
When we arrived home, I ran to my Mom and told her all that my Uncle, her brother, had done to me. Then I went to my room to change clothes. Mom read Uncle Mickey the riot act, I listened, pleasing me to no end.
In the future I was always ready for the next fishing trip, when this story came up, I loved to tell it and laughed the hardest.

Uncle Mickey, is what I used to call him, the brother of my mom. He was the best uncle kid could ever want.
Spending time with him & Auntie Lois in my childhood was always fun. Fishing, tomato sandwiches, playing Monopoly till bedtime, trying to stay out of trouble or at least not get caught.
Best Aunt and Uncle my children ever had, it carried over.
God rest his soul.
