Obituary of Nancy Eva Sanzone

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Eva Sanzone, Passionate artist/designer, dedicated animal advocate, and beloved wife; passed away on May 10, 2023. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 9, 1956. She was the youngest of 3 children of John George Sanzone and Geraldine Regina Devine, her eldest brother John Sanzone (D.) and her brother Gerard Sanzone. Nancy’s family eventually moved from New York to New Jersey where Nancy attended primary and secondary schools, graduating from high school in 1974. Throughout her school years, Nancy studied and excelled in her art classes; whether it was drawing with charcoal pencils, sculpting, or painting with water and/or oils. Her devotion to art led to numerous awards. Being a decisive and independent soul, a young 17-year-old Nancy made the courageous decision to start a new life; moving across the country to San Francisco, California. Nancy held various jobs in her career, and eventually found she could leverage her creative spirit in the world of interior design. She helped builders design and stage model homes, and she guided customers with the many choices that went into designing their new home. Eventually, she successfully set up a showroom in the SF Design Center where she could discuss design options, furniture options, and be as creative as she possibly could with her customers. Anyone who knew Nancy knew of her extraordinary support and devotion towards animals; always contributing to multiple charitable organizations. If Nancy saw a stray animal, she would be the first to jump out of the car and help. If puppies or a rescue needed a home she called on her network to see if they could adopt or a least foster a pet for a period of time. Nancy was a huge supporter of the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA. Her favorite mail were those that included pictures of seal pups who were rescued and later released…especially if it was one of the pups she had adopted. Nancy is survived by her husband Robert Berini, her sister-in-law Jan Sanzone along with nieces, nephews, and some very close friends. Nancy had a kind and generous spirit and will be missed by her family and friends. Donations in Nancy’s name may be made to The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA. www.marinemammalcenter.org
